School Philosophy
Children’s early years are critical for nurturing their eagerness to learn. Their innate curiosity inspires a love for learning. ACG aims to create an environment so that each day a child enters is like an adventure.
ACG believes in giving children an early start for school success by providing a broad range of educational opportunities that encourage the development of the whole child. At the school you will find a family-like environment supported by qualified and certified instructors with many years of Montessori experience.
Because we recognize the home is the first school for the child, we find it essential to partner with our families to provide the best possible environment for the children. Through Montessori education, parenting workshops and numerous resources, we aim to create an environment conducive to cooperation, support and interaction among families and educators.
ACG values diversity and multiculturalism. We polled the families and learned that our students come from households representing over 20 nations. In addition to English, many of the children use a different language at home. Our classrooms are vivid examples of a peaceful interplay among children with different cultural backgrounds. We find it important to respect and value differences.
At ACG children are taught how to do things themselves; they learn to ask for assistance from others when necessary and are eager to give assistance when asked. Once they have learned a skill, they are encouraged to continue practicing the skill. Behavioral patterns are continuously reinforced in the classroom, so children internalize what is expected from them and become independent and self-motivated. Children do many tasks on their own such as washing hands, setting up their food, putting away materials, forming a line, setting up their mat for nap time and folding their own sheets, recycling trash, helping each other, etc…
