Director’s Bio
Donna Hatter, owner and director of A Child’s Garden Montessori School, is a native Texan, born and raised in Waco. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas in Austin, and the Montessori Pre-primary Certification (3-6 years) from the Montessori Training Center of Michigan, completing her internship in Tucson, Arizona. Ms. Hatter is certified by the American Montessori Society. She has 20 years of experience in the classroom and was a Pre-primary teacher at ACG for several years prior to becoming the owner in February of 2007.
In addition to many years of teaching in the Pre-primary classroom, Ms. Hatter has various work experiences in many aspects of the business community: training and development, supervision, project management, and admissions. Combining her educational and business backgrounds, Ms. Hatter is actively engaged in every area of the school; she knows every child by name and seldom misses the opportunity to greet the students and their parents on a daily basis.

To lead the school effectively, Ms. Hatter keeps abreast of current educational literature, attends educational workshops and seminars, and teaches as a visiting lecturer in Early Childhood education classes.
In her own words, Ms. Hatter affirms her beliefs: “Education has been my passion for over 20 years. I believe that if given the appropriate encouragement, every child has the potential to grow in independence, self-confidence and with a love of learning. Children are not empty vessels to be filled with knowledge; the learning comes from within, when nourished by a supportive environment.”
